Our story

It's not one about real estate, but instead utilizing real estate as a vehicle to build passive wealth to support a lifestyle of giving. Eventually, we intend to put our focus towards the dirt that has given us the opportunity of life on this earth and would cherish sharing that opportunity with our investors.

Melissa Darling
Founder

Melissa Darling is a full-time real estate investor and founder of Humble Homes Investments, LLC. Beginning her career in real estate in 2019 as a sales agent, Melissa understood that education was the number one differentiating factor when it came to investing in and building wealth within real estate. She joined Fortune Builders, a nationwide community of experienced real estate investors, to learn, network and understand the business of investing in real estate. 

After representing investors on both ends of the transaction for a year and underwriting, walking properties, talking with sellers, putting in offers and eventually getting a nice wholesale fee, Melissa found higher returns that more suited her investment style in the Caribbean .

During the past two years, Melissa’s operational focus has been on her remote investments in the Caribbean. A single family, ground-up development in 2021 with a local partner sharing a generous 30% ROI with her investors, followed by an ongoing four-family condo conversion where she has taken on all operational management of the construction process. After her recent capital raise for the four-family investment, Melissa realized her love of sharing investment opportunities with other like-minded people and began shifting her career focus in the direction of sharing more investment opportunities with her network. 

Melissa joined RaiseMasters in June of 2022, a very well-regarded investment mastermind focused on educating investors on how to create professional deal offerings through syndication investments and receive exposure to professional operators across all asset classes. Melissa is very excited about this community and the returns she will see from investing in this mastermind. With all the changes and growth that Melissa has undergone, there has been an even deeper shift under the surface of her being. As she became educated in all things real estate, she also found the path of self-development. Her values shifted, and eventually she found deep meaning in the experiences she has on this earth. Eventually, Melissa intends to merge the business with her higher purpose of life which will be to give back to the earth. Her intention is to build up the passive income of her investor base and eventually transition the investment opportunities from traditional real estate opportunities, into more creative and environmentally friendly investments. What that will look like is unknown in this moment and will likely be a long-term endeavor for the foreseeable future.
